Kelly Wells, M.Sc., P.Biol

Joining CanNorth as an aquatic biologist in 2001 was a dream job for Kelly, and she has devoted over 24 years of her professional career to the company. Over the years, CanNorth and Kelly’s career have grown immensely, and she embraces her current role as an Operations Manager and the Environment Division Manager. Kelly oversees the development, direction, and day-to-day operation of the Environment Division and is pivotal in the management of CanNorth, including co-managing the Indigenous recruitment and mentorship program. Kelly is highly involved in project management and technical work and has extensive experience leading large-scale multidisciplinary investigations, environmental impact assessments, environmental monitoring programs and performance reporting, Environmental Effects Monitoring (EEM) programs, water quality and toxicological studies, and various fish studies. She has participated in committees, providing input on federal regulations, co-authored peer-reviewed publications and a guidance document, co-chaired the mining session and served on the organizing committee for the Canadian Ecotoxicity Workshop multiple times, and presented on environmental topics nationally and internationally. Kelly is an active member of the science and environment committees for the Mining Association of Canada.
