Joshua Traylor, Ph.D.

Joshua has broad expertise and training, beginning with his many academic accomplishments and extending through his professional career. He has over 20 years of experience in scientific research and environmental consulting, which he utilizes as a Senior Wildlife Biologist and Manager in the Environment Division, leading the Wildlife Department. Joshua’s specialties include environmental baseline programs, environmental assessments, species-at-risk investigations, avian risk assessments, special investigations, and monitoring programs. He has experience in avian and wildlife biology, including breeding birds, ungulates (woodland caribou), population dynamics, and stable isotope ecology. Joshua has been involved with project management, study design, permitting, managing field logistics, senior report preparation and review, liaising with regulators, and providing mitigation options to clients. He has extensive knowledge of statistical analyses and environmental regulations and has participated in habitat suitability mapping/modelling and biodiversity effects analyses. Joshua has been involved in numerous project types across North America, including environmental impact assessments for mining clients, reclamation activities, and linear developments. Additionally, he has authored/co-authored numerous papers in peer-reviewed journals.
