Cassandra Rees, B.Sc. (Hon.), P.Biol.

Cassandra first came to CanNorth over 20 years ago as an aquatic ecologist after spending time as an environmental researcher. Her enthusiasm, energy, and hard work have led to her position as a Manager in the Environment Division, leading the Aquatics Department. Cassandra is also a valued member of the Operations Team. Cassandra enjoys a challenge and is extensively involved in designing, evaluating, implementing, and managing projects that assess the potential effects of industrial developments on aquatic environments. These projects include environmental assessments, state of the environment/environmental performance reports, Environmental Effects Monitoring (EEM) programs, fish habitat compensation projects, water quality studies, and a diversity of aquatic ecosystem assessments. Cassandra is an experienced project manager who oversees large and complex projects that are multi-disciplinary. She also specializes in data interpretation and statistical analyses and has extensive experience completing and interpreting multivariate analysis of community datasets. Although Cassandra’s clients are often mining companies, she is involved in projects for a diversity of sectors and manages community-based monitoring programs such as the Eastern Athabasca Regional Monitoring Program.
