Athabasca Working Group Environmental Monitoring Program 2007
The Athabasca Working Group (AWG) environmental monitoring program was started in 2000 with the goal of providing northerners with the opportunity to test the environment around their communities for contaminants that could come from active uranium mining and milling operations. In order to address public concerns, lakes, rivers, plants, wildlife, and air quality are tested near the seven communities located in the Athabasca region of northern Saskatchewan.
